inspired by all that surrounds me.......

"Hello Chicken....." Everyday as I walk around I am constantly inspired by all that surrounds me, people, wall art, colours, customer projects almost everything.....

Here are some new beautiful japanese indigo's fabrics available in the store now
including these oriental prints, we also have a beautiful selection of traditional japanese silks
These soft pastel florals are perfect for a small baby quilt or little girls room.....
We also have a lovely selection of beautiful old fashioned roses on blacks and dark backgrounds and other colours. These fabrics were produced in Japan.....
Always inspired by books........here are a few that I have been working from lately
This beautiful 9 patch quilt made by one of our customer's is constructed using Kaffe Fassett shot cottons and the Liberty Paisley collection also coloured by Kaffe
This fresh and fun quilt by Valerie made for her granddaughter
Valerie attended classes with me in the shop. Valerie also learnt free motion quilting so she could complete the quilt herself......
Daisy design free motion quilting detail shown above
Stacey attended several workshops in the store to make this stunning lampshade "Squint Style"
Stacey has just decorated her new home with beautiful designer's Guild fabrics and wanted to create some eye catching pieces to complete each room with a personal touch
Together Stacey & I pieced each panel of the shade making sure the pattern and design ran cohesively across the each piece

In addition to the shade Stacey also made these impressive cushions for her couch
Detail showing the backing fabric
Including this fun circular cushion with gathered double ruffle

Nicolene and her Mum came in to share this wonderful postage stamp colour wash quilt that her Mum had made
The usage of black in this quilt really sets off the other colours. It really is reminiscent of a beautiful garden
Nicolene's Mum also crocheted this amazing blanket.
The flowers are raised giving the blanket a 3 dimensional effect
Some interesting wall art at the Perth train station..... I just liked the colours and the free form style of these cute guys!
I just love, Love, LOVE old fashioned smelly roses - "Don't we ALL".......... Here is a selection that we picked from Jo's rose garden in the Swan Valley
My best girlfriend Georgia was having a birthday party so we put together a series of floral arrangements for the party
These fat & floppy David Austen's were the pick of the day, especially in this vintage deco vase.

Judith made this amazing transport inspired quilt
I completed the quilt with free motion quilting to enhance the design of the fabrics
Traffic Jam
A Choo Choo Train......
Beep Beep

I just really like this cool dude too!
Carol made this beautiful Alice in Wonderland inspired quilt
Carol's beautiful hand quilting really enhanced the panels she has inserted in her lovely soft coloured quilt
Forever a fan of cute mushrooms

This cute clock really adds to the design

Regular client at Materialise, Sophie made these 2 fresh, fun & funky quilts....
This quilt was her little boy Charlie
And this quilt was for her new nephew

Helen made this eye catching quilt using the slightly heavier weight echino fabrics for her daughter
Helen has also cleverly pieced the back of her exciting quilt using an echino plain, incorporating fabrics from the front of the quilt to add a spark of colour
Lindsey made another stunning quilt for her 6 yr old granddaughter
The colour selection she has made is amazing.....
Gentle tones of aqua, lemon, pink and raspberry makes this quilt a timeless classic
bye bye butterfly!
