Two new bolts of Japanese (natural colours) 100% linen arrived back into the store. Many people have been wanting and waiting for this beautiful user friendly Linen to come in. This hot item won't last long so if you've had your eye on one of our Linen & Liberty quilts made by Shelby now is a great time to pop in and pick up a nice piece of linen before it sells out again. The last delivery of this superior, drapey cloth sold out in under a week.
To add to the mix of fun, fresh and whimsical novelty prints a new delivery arrived from Cloud 9. This new range includes some very cute mushrooms in soft lovely tones of lemon, pink, peach and grey or aqua, teal, duck egg blue and grey. Shelby and myself have co-ordinated some divine packs using the Cloud 9 prints combining them with a lovely selection of fresh Japanese florals and blenders. Live, Life, Light, Love and Liberty

Since the arrival of the Liberty fabrics into our store, Materialise has been a buzz. The energy is electric and contagious. Many embark on new Liberty projects while others simply rejoice when they find a stunning new Liberty floral that up until now has eluded them.
Shelby got totally involved with this quilt, Friendly Fox Faces. After seeing a picture of this quilt Shelby being the scientific mind that she is reinterpreted this very cool quilt and the reaction has been amazing. Shelby has combined a pure Japanese linen in a beige feathered tone with a beautifully tonal selection of Classic Liberty prints.

Hilda's quilt has also made a fantastic Liberty, House & Garden quilt. The colours are beautifully fresh. A new display showcases Hilda's gorgeous quilt so pop into the store to see this magnificent quilt including quilting by her friend Michelle.

I will post a picture later on.......

Shelby and I also combined forces with this Liberty quilt, known as Trip Around the World. We hadn't made one before. It looks tricky but it's actually super easy to create this effective colourwash.
I have used the sumptuous new 100% (machine washable) Wool wadding. It has a high bouncy loft that is very light to lift but warm and snuggly buggly, yet it's surprisingly cool, all at the same time. It's lovely to hand quilt. (Yes you heard it gals "I'm quilting by hand"). But then I'll find any excuse to use the Aurifil 12Wt in as many colours as I can. The colours are sweet and look like little lollies and really add a gorgeous look and feel. I have also being using Jeana Foxglove Redwork & Embroidery Needles. These amazing hand sewing needles make hand stitching a pleasurable breeze & make me a better sewer.
From now on Materialise will be stocking a full range of Liberty tana lawn bias binding. Our folded edge bias bind is a generous width, finished at 1 inch wide (or 25 mm) wide. Making them perfect for a variety of craft projects.

Joyride stripe - Liberty tana lawn bias binding shown above is available now... We have made a selection of bindings using my favourite vintage Liberty's. Some I have used in the past so I know they make fabulous binding's and trims. These vintage bindings have limited stock available so don't wait to take a trip to Materialise......
