Fresh New Fabrics from Sevenberry

Stylish New Japanese Indigo's to add to our already stunning selection. Rusty red shibori style print is back by popular demand...
We have Cute Car novelty prints covered at Materialise. Here are some great new ones in store now! Including some super cute co-ordinates that work back with these prints beautifully.
New Fresh and Bright florals in a slightly heavier weight cotton suitable for home decor projects or bags.
Green Apples in two different base cloths. Natural Linen (left) and the beautifully soft Japanese Double Gauze suitable for baby wraps, face cloths and clothing.
This eye catching floral print is is very similar in quality to our Liberty Tana Lawn fabrics, without the tana lawn price. The classic pink gingham check is lithe and soft and would be perfect for shirts or beautiful baby cot sheets.
This haphazard and irregular check is already proving popular printed in a dark ink navy blue on white.
Akky green and aqua pieces have a traditional Japanese woven texture on the surface of the cloth. The green is back by popular demand and the aqua is just such a great colour we had to have it too.

My new Liberty Boho Quilt

This week I started on making some new quilts for the shop in all the latest Liberty prints that we have in the store.
Here is my new Boho Liberty quilt in pinks..... featuring the new Alice in Wonderland print that is so much fun to work with.
I completed Paula's lovely selection of cushions for her new home and here is a sneak peak. This beautiful design is a Liberty print called Marina Seaflower. It has been so popular and it's not hard to see why.
This Liberty design called Anna's Garden were my favourite. They just looked superb as cushions because the print is so big each cushion showcased a different aspect of the floral display.
Gorgeous Yuwa Florals always look amazing and create a bit of a statement. It all started 2 years ago when I gave Georgia (my best girlfriend) some cushions in the design on the left. Paula her mother fell in LOVE and now she has couches full of these beautiful fabrics too.
Come in and see our beautiful range of Liberty prints and Japanese Yuwa fabrics and make some gorgeous cushions or a beautiful Boho quilt for someone you Love.....

What's HOT at Materialise

I've been busy the past few weeks working on a commission for a friend who is decorating her new home with lots of new and gorgeous, vintage looking, plump cushions.....
Paula loves beautiful blooms and this gorgeous soft eau de nil green linen from Yuwa (amongst others) was a perfect match strewn amongst Paula's comfy calico coloured couches.
Lightly quilted using an Aurifil 50 wt thread in the same green shade. The linen has stayed soft yet is anchored and gives the cushions more durability...
Yesterday a new shipment of outstanding Japanese fabrics arrived from Yuwa and our prayers were answered, these new fabrics will complete our look beautifully.....
"We Love them All...."

Paula's pick.... The colours in this beautiful old fashioned Rose print are amazing; washed out soft yellows and greens move to a hint of blue, with blush pink and grey on a creamy calico coloured background... I also LOVE the paisley in the background, (shown below in raspberry). The green works perfectly with the floral.
The subtle printing of this paisley gives the surface of the cloth an almost etched vintage quality to this print, whilst the colour fades across the piece in an ombre style.
This is my pick " I J'adore this fabric"
(I have been eagerly awaiting for it's arrival.....
The background colour is a soft charcoal grey (not black) and although the colours are vibrant they have a vintage washed out look to them.
The cloth feels amazing, almost like a tissue. This lovely fabric has had a jacquard woven into it so the surface of the cloth is very textural and looks embossed.
This delicate and stunning salmon pink print is Gretel's pick and it's not hard to see why; it's Divine
Up close you can see the intricate texture that has been printed which is reminiscent of a beautiful piece of old hand made French Lace.
Beautiful and bright Asian inspired prints that we all know and love. Including a gorgeous aqua blue with hints of violet purple.
Japaenese textile designer Atsuko Matsuyama doesn't disappoint with some great retro prints from her latest 30's Collection. The small strawberry on the duck egg blue is printed on a sturdy natural linen blend.
Back when Materialise first opened we sold lots and lots of these fabrics shown above. This strawberry  design was so useful and such a good yellow. These yummy Yuwa dots are great for backings being 145cms wide. This soft and floppy cotton has a vintage pre loved feel.
Crazy cat women... "We know who you are!" We always think of you gals and thought this cute little pussy print would entice you in...
Retro novelty prints are always a winner in a little boys or girls nursery quilt. This one would look great in our modern eye spy quilt: Novelty Squared.
Nautical theme is still popular as always and we continue to add to our comprehensive collection. Shelby is always up for a new boy print especially now that little William is about to hit 1 year old. We couldn't resist these cute baby fishes and mini sailboats in this Japanese print.
This gorgeous Ikat style design is Made in Japan by Moda and is printed on a nice sturdy natural linen base cloth that would be great for upholstery projects but is still soft enough to be used in a patchwork quilt too.

Alice in Wonderland - Back at Materialise!

To all our Loyal Materialise customers who have eagerly waited for the return of Alice in Wonderland. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you because it has arrived!!!!!
Including a few other little precious characters and florals that I know you'll Love......
Here is a small selection of what we have just received in the way of new Liberty fabric in the store this week.
I've just finished putting together a new quilt that I've been working on, this Liberty Chevron Quilt in pinks, yellows and greens.
I really love both Marina Seaflower and Susannah so I worked to make the colours blend together so I could use them both in this quilt.....
I will be cutting cutting kits of this quilt that will be available in the next two weeks.....
