Liberty Fabrics - Colour My World

New Liberty's have arrived at Materialise with more fun to come...

Sophie stripped together this stylish & slightly edgy gender neutral baby quilt using strips of varying widths ranging from 1 inch to 4 inches.

This is a remake of a quilt Sophie made 7 years ago for her brother's first born child. Not knowing the sex of the lil' bubba, Sophie overcame her dilemma by making this rainbow inspired creation to cater for either boy or girl.  Jakob still loves his quilt & has it laying across the end of his bed.

The rich jewelled tones of this Liberty strippy quilt has a warm wintery feel & are some of Sophie's favourite colours

Spring has definitely sprung in this beautiful "Boho"style quilt  made by Betty using entirely Liberty fabrics...

Loosely fussy cut so the detail of each fabric can be clearly seen & tells a story...

The gelato colour selection works perfectly. Yum!

We Love It!

Slowly but surely Sophie is making headway putting together kits of her designs that are made and displayed in the store..... Yay!

How is this for a really cool "Dinosaur Design" Quilt....!

Jeanette made this 'Super Cool' dinosaur quilt for her grandson Ben (5 yrs old)

Jeanette made superb usage of this fabric  by Phillip Jacob "Tulip Mania" bringing her prehistoric patchwork beasts to life!!

By cutting and piecing the fabric in different directions Jeanette has managed to lose the flower formation in this print & instead creating jungle foliage...
Very creative and imaginative..

We particularly love the quilting detail that has been used to finish the quilt.
Quilted professionally by Jo Northcott (email; jo@jonorthcott.com.au)
using a stylised dinosaur design accompanied by jungle leaves....

"We ALL think this quilt really Rocks!"

Stella celebrated her 3rd birthday in June this year....

Kits are now available so you can also make this gorgeous little skirt. Available in 2 colours: pink or purple..

Natasha came in & made her very 1st quilt for her eldest daughter Annelise, to give to her before she left to give birth to their 2nd little girl Georgia.

Natasha worked tirelessly on this fresh & fun quilt,
finishing it the night before she went into hospital.

Good work Sista!

Cheryl came to Materialise & chose this yummy selection of fabrics (Yuwa retro spots & novelty print; Annette Tautm - House) Then made this divine pastel coloured quilt. It's completely edible.

Cheryl is an experienced quilter... which clearly shows in the execution of this beautiful quilt, highlighted by her superb colour choice.

Hand quilted with delicate circular stitches radiating out from the chocolate coloured flower, which serve to emphasize the beauty of "the gift"..!

Wow Cheryl, your quilt looks amazing..!!

Sophie made this comfy floor cushion
(special order for Molly who is 3 yrs old..!)

Sophie pieced this crazy log cabin cushion top

Using a series of funk'd up novelty prints with coordinating spots, checks etc...
(mostly Kokka & Yuwa)

Liberty Twill in varying shades of pink & peach have been used to make the sides and bottom of this gusseted floor cushion

Free motion quilting has been added (using Aurifil thread - 100% cotton) to quilt the cushion top using "quilt lite" as a wadding which gives this nice puffy effect.....

"Hhmmm Quilty Goooodness"

Stylish Stella came in & chose fabrics (Kokka & Michael Miller fabrics) in deep rich purpley chocolates & mustard yellow tones then preceded to make this "Novelty Panel" cot quilt to give as a gift to her expecting girlfriend.

Thanks for the cool photos too!
.

It's Simply Stunnning - Thanks Stella!!!!

Materialise... Uh Oh!!

hello, Hello......

so So SO "Sorry" for the loong break in transmission here Folks! Materialise was in the thick of things during the storm that hit Perth in March.

As you can see we had our own private swimming pool courtesy of Mother Nature

I freaked out when I saw how much it had actually rained inside. Luckily quite a few good friends come to our rescue...

Georgie and I spent the next two days on a salvage mission.
We definitely had our work cut out for us......!

It's quite a tricky business drying really, Really, REALLY long lengths of fabric....
But we all got creative with it!!!

And as you can see we got pretty "Busy" utilising every spare square inch of space.

Thank you to everyone that helped us on that horrible stormy night & on the days that followed.....
Over half our fabrics were lost due to the storm but thankfully we are nearly back on track.
