Gorgeous new Linens arrived into the store this week. These beautiful yarn dyed fabrics come in Lipstick, Chambray and Apple (shown) and are also available in Indigo and Kiwi (not shown) and are the perfect weight and drape for my latest little pattern which is pictured a bit lower down.
This very classic (almost country, albeit cool country) yarn dyed melange in a mini hounds tooth check also arrived today. I've been looking for this fabric for about 4 years now (it started out as a customer request and ended up being a personal quest for me to find it). I really only wanted the red but ended up with green, pink and blue because it would have been rude not too.... Plus they are seriously good basic colours that will go with so much and will prove to be very useful in both quilts and clothing.
We are suckers for strawberry prints as you already know, if we find fabrics that make strawberry prints look even more amazing we are definitely ordering them too. So we had to have these cute new retro pin dots in dark pink and chocolate/charcoal.
Back in stock is all these gorgeous linens we stocked about 2 years ago. Especially lovely for clothing we have had many, many requests for this cloth to come back so here it is girls.....!
Here is my latest pattern.... "Sweet Swing Top" essentially its a big circle that is cut on the bias. The pattern is currently in work and I'm hoping will be in the shop by this Saturday. It's very versatile and looks great with shorts and boots too. (But ofcourse, everything looks great with boots!)
This is one of my favourite quilts made by Lizzet. It uses a beautiful yarn dyed linen as the background fabric which I found really inspiring.
Sadly Lizzet will leave us this week to return home to the UK with her husband Tony. Lizzet and I met in the shop one day when I was heavily pregnant with my little Liberty girl. After chatting about life and selecting fabric together for her cushion project I think I pretty much hired Lizzet on the spot, feeling confident she would fit right in with our customers and the relaxed style that is Materialise. Lizzet then took on the running of the store so effortlessly whilst I went on maternity leave which gave me a lovely sense of peace. The store could not have been in better hands.
Over the past 24 months a beautiful, respectful and honest working relationship and friendship has grown between Lizzet, Hilda and myself, resulting in more being achieved at Materialise than ever before. The journey has been amazing and I am so grateful and appreciative that I and all the customers who visit us at the shop were given the gift of meeting, working and sharing the creative input of such an amazing, talented, yet humble and gentle soul.
Lizzet, your daily presence will be very much missed in our little store that you have so gracefully and gently nutured to become so much more than what it already was. Thank you for being such a stylish soul. God Bless
