New Quilts by Hilda at Materialise......

These very popular and very versatile linens came back into stock this week with the addition of a couple of new colours

Large floor cushion inserts are also available 85x85cms with a 20cm gusset. Made from recycled drink bottles.... Crazy i know but these inserts stay really plump and don't flatten down.. We also have regular cushion inserts in stock.

 Hilda has been extremely busy making quilts for the shop and surprised me with this beautiful, fun and fresh quilt this week. Hilda used new fabrics that just arrived at Materialise and we featured on our last post...

Patchwork Classes with Lizzet & more to see......

Lizzet has made this gorgeous eye catching 9 patch quilt for her new class "Patchwork Basics".

Starting on Wednesday May 15th at 7:00 - 9:00 pm and running for 4 weeks (May 15th, 22nd, 29th & June 5th)

This course is for students who want a quick and simple introduction to the essentials of pieceing and quilting a patchwork quilt. This class will cover rotary cutting and all of the essential sewing skills for creating patchwork by machine...... Hilda is our newest staff member at Materialise and she has also made this striking patchwork quilt as a gift to be sent to a far off land......

Hilda incorporated the traditional Aboriginal fabrics we have in store and based her quilt on a pattern called "Big Wheel" designed by Bridgitte Heitland. Hilda added the braid borders to really bring the whole design together. Machine quilted by Hilda's friend Michelle Griffiths, Hilda wanted the ripple effect to give it a traditional Aboriginal feel.....

These cute new fabrics arrived. They are made from 100% organic cotton so they have a really soft surface finish. Perfect for little boys who are mad for Robots!!! My little girl Liberty Violet who just turned one is also having a few friends birthday's coming up soon so I've been making cushions as gifts for her friends with these fabrics.

 Amy is one of our long standing customers & she made this colourful strippy quilt using cotton sateens she had collected over a little while for the new house she has just finished building..... Well done Girl!
